Shan is our very own missionary from WCB. She is the daughter of Roger & Joy Reed.
Shan Reed first journeyed to Osaka, Japan in order to help the Ewings carry on the work at Kongo Bible Church for Doug & Sharon Woyke who were in the US on home assignment. Shan is working alongside Paul and Melissa Ewing at Komyo Christian Church, a church plant in southern Osaka. Komyo means 'bright, shining light.' The church's desire is to be a bright, shining light in the neighborhood and throughout Osaka and Japan.
Shan's ministry involves teaching English conversation, baking and Bible classes in both English and Japanese, and working with women and youth. Another ministry in which Shan is involved is the Anointed Gospel Choir (AGC), which meets at a local community center. Recently, Komyo Christian Church has also formed a gospel choir, Sonshine Gospel Choir. Although many people do not understand or believe the songs they are singing, gospel music is quite popular in Japan.
Fellow workers: Ken & Rachelle Johnson and Yuri Nakano
Pray for Shan:
Pray for Shan as she interacts with students, friends, and fellow choir members. Pray that her conversations would always be seasoned with God's love. Pray for her as she seeks new ways to meet people in the community.
"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish... so is My word that goes out from My mouth: it will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:10-11
